Source-Police in Roseburg, Ore., say a man who robbed a restaurant was armed with a can of bug spray. A bartender tried to bat away the can of insect repellent when the robber brandished it, but the employee got a direct spray to the face. The Roseburg News-Review reports the robber grabbed money from a cash box behind the bar and fled.

You know as stupid as this sounds, I think this Robber had a good idea. Obviously, I do not condone stealing or theft or assault, but if you had to rob an establishment this is how you do it. Bug spray is not assault with a deadly weapon. So even if you get busted, your prison time is significantly less than if you used a gun or knife. Plus it’s light weight and leaves no fingerprints, casings, etc. The insurance agency is going to give the money back to the restaurant so it’s not like this is a huge deal. For all the restaurant should care, the guy came in and took care of a mosquito problem. No bugs at the restaurant and a few hundred bucks in the pocket of the robber. Everybody wins.
